Michael has been applying technology to create simple concepts for products or solutions to household problems for as long as he can remember. His goal is to give people the tools and knowledge so they never again ask themselves the question “why didn’t I think of that?”
Michael Manhardt earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin and has worked in product development for over 10 years. He has spent time at world-class manufacturers such as Harley Davidson, Polaris Industries, and Waukesha Engines in various capacities that allowed him to gain expertise in all aspects of the product development process. After receiving his MBA from the University of Montana in 2011 he founded Acuity Design.
Michael’s goal with life and work is always to challenge normal and try to help others live the mantra: “There has to be a better way!”

James has always been a tinkerer, analyst, and designer. Not surprisingly, James’s favorite toys were Legos as a young boy and he started building custom bikes at age 11. He loves working with his hands and working with others to to make their ideas come to life.
James holds a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, an MS in Education from Concordia University Wisconsin and has done further graduate work in applied mathematics at the University of Montana. He has ten years of product development experience including seven years with Mercury Marine and Kohler Engines. He also has three years experience teaching math and computer science at the University of Montana as adjunct faculty. In 2012, Michael lured him away from his pursuit of a Ph.D. in applied mathematics to help build Acuity Design.
When he’s not in the office or shop, James still enjoys building and racing custom bicycles and now teaches his young sons how to engineer Lego structures.
